Does your child create imaginative, original visual artwork? Does he have an eye for photography? Has she written her own songs or fantastic stories? The Bay Village PTA Reflections program is a chance for our art-loving students to shine.
What IS Reflections? It is PTA’s nationally acclaimed student cultural arts program, recognizing children for their creativity. Students from Preschool through Grade 12, may participate and explore the arts based on the 2019-2020 theme: Look Within.
Students of all abilities are invited to submit an art piece in the categories of: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts.
CALL FOR ENTRIES Coming
Each submission from the Bay Village school district is judged locally with a select number of winning pieces submitted to the state of Ohio PTA for competition. Those winning at state are then submitted to the national PTA level, which will be held in Columbus, Ohio this year.
The Reflections Program is one of the best examples of the PTA’s ability to bring out the best in our youth. PTA strongly supports education in the arts. It is about creating educational excitement and involvement within our schools between parents, teachers and our kids.

In spring 2020, the Reflections program comes to a close and we recognize all of our students’ artistic achievements at our Reflections Art Show and Awards Ceremony, a fun celebration open to all families in Bay, usually held in March or April at Bay Middle School.
Each student who entered a submission in Reflections will receive a certificate of participation and raffle tickets to win fun prize baskets. The three highest-scoring submissions within each age division and each arts category will also be recognized on stage with additional prize ribbons and award certificates. If any students scored at the Ohio State PTA contest, we will recognize their efforts, too. We’ll have yummy refreshments and even a few art supplies on hand as we unveil the theme for the next year’s contest. At the end of the evening, students bring their submissions back home to enjoy.
Participating families will be sent a reminder invitation to the celebration via email as soon as the details are finalized. All are welcome to attend!
